Position Overview:

The Delivery Lead Director will guide the overall strategic direction and operations of the Delivery Lead team.  The DL team of professionals provide a leadership role on Asynchrony delivery teams and multi-team engagements specifically focused on delivery assurance. The team is responsible for successful service delivery through oversight of client relationships, strategic, tactical and technical decisions, team health, and the financial health of project(s). 

Responsibilities for the Delivery Team Practice Leader:

  • Responsible for planning, leading, organizing, and motivating the Delivery Lead Chapter of professionals 
  • Responsible for Department operational effectiveness
  • Function as a player-coach, serving as a Delivery Lead themselves on cross-discipline client project teams
  • Define and implement operating improvements and best practices in serving our clients and growing our professional staff
  • Assign projects -- pairing projects with talents and expertise
  • Manage client and partner relationships as appropriate from a leadership perspective
  • Work with clients and strategic partners on approaches to solve complex challenges
  • Practice “servant leadership,” supporting team self-organization while holding them accountable for quality delivery
  • Provide mentorship across the organization on effective software development and consultative business practices
  • Focus on quality of the end deliverable, ensuring that all projects deliver “first time right”
  • Interview and select personnel and facilitate team members career development
  • Collaborate with executive and senior leaders throughout the organization

Some main responsibilities of the "individual" Delivery Lead role:

  • Ensure that essential outcomes of project initiation and contracted statements of work are achieved and revisited as needed
  • Assist customer in understanding and creating their “fitness for purpose” metrics
  • Coordinate dependencies and assess risks across Asynchrony multi-team engagements (if applicable) 
  • Ensure fast and smooth delivery of value through the value stream (aka flow management)
  • Ensure that customer is engaged appropriately throughout the delivery lifecycle
  • Serve as point of contact for the customer, bringing in the Business Development partner when appropriate
  • Manage budgets and create forecasts with team
  • Manage customer expectations, the team's fitness for purpose and team health (e.g., facilitate service delivery review)
  • Assess team composition and recommend staffing changes
  • Help teams organize themselves for optimal delivery outcomes including clearly defined boundaries for team self-organization
  • Assist the account manager in identifying new client projects and scope changes requiring new and/or amended statements of work.

  • Successfully led programs of multiple agile software delivery teams
  • Diverse experience with software development technologies and tools

  • Ability to work across an organization, from executive level to tactical discussions
  • Excellent written, verbal, and public-speaking communication skills, involving the ability to explain complex concepts to both technical and non-technical leadership and stakeholders
  • Proven experience organizing and managing changing project requirements in a highly dynamic environment while effectively communicating delivery and timeline status to stakeholders
  • Ability to multitask, ensuring that multiple projects are delivered against tight deadlines
  • Able to work independently and efficiently to meet deadlines and goals
  • Experience in interaction with all levels of internal customers to achieve project delivery
  • Rapidly adapt and respond to changes in environment and priorities
  • Excellent management, problem solving, and analytical skills
