The self-motivated person who fills this position will be joining and contributing to a dynamic and determined team that will be assisting a local Southern California public sector client to successfully transform how they provide services to their respective clients. This digital transformation initiative will involve close collaboration with the client to architect, design, and develop a secure, user-centric, and mission-critical solution that will involve multiple teams that will organized to meet the client’s needs through a fast-paced agile development approach within an heterogeneous DevOps environment. More importantly, this initiative will have a lasting positive impact on enhancing the citizen experience.
You will have the opportunity to collaborate with colleagues across the country in different groups to help in the development of this solution. This critical client initiative must integrate several complex components using modern and disparate technologies (hardware and software), some implemented by other third parties, securely and with the highest quality to address regulatory and compliance requirements.
FUTURE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Creation and maintenance of tables, indexes, stored procedures, triggers, etc.
• Database operations (backup and recovery, DBMS installation and upgrades, configuration, security)
• Storage Management
• Performance Tuning
• Support to internal and external clients
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS TO BE SUCCESSFUL IN THIS ROLE
Experience required includes:
? Minimum of 4 years’ experience as a Database administrator:
? Experience in the following areas
o Administering midrange relational databases (Oracle, SQL Server, DB2, MySQL, etc.)
o Using DBMS procedural languages (TRANSACT, PL/SQL, etc.)Systems integration in a complex technical and business environment
o Basic operating system functionality (Windows Server, AIX/LINUX/UNIX/Solaris, etc.)
o Data backup and management procedures
? Proficient in MS Office, specifically Word and Excel
? Self-motivated with excellent planning experience that can work well independently and within a team environment
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS/NON-ESSENTIAL SKILLS REQUIRED
Hands-on experience in the following areas:
o DevOps Tooling such as JIRA and SonarQube
o ITIL Foundations certification
o Client Delivery
