As a Database Administrator, you will collaborate closely with utility customers, internal product owners, and other EAS engineering teams. Your role extends beyond technical expertise; you will engage directly with customers, understanding their needs, scoping solutions, and delivering tailored, engineered, and integrated intelligent solutions. In this role you will:
• Manage multi-instance SQL Server
• Perform patching, backups, installations, configurations, and security enhancements.
• Document maintenance and performance plan
• Understand and apply best practices for database architecture.
• Read and modify Structured Query Language (SQL) code.
• Work with database triggers, stored procedures, and replication jobs.
• Work with the software development team and suggest table, view, index and key improvement.
• Tune SQL queries, database structure, configuration, and settings for optimal performance.
• Manage shares, local services, and utilize ODBC/JDBC connections.
• Familiarity with cluster management.
• Understand latency, performance metrics, availability, efficiency, and change management.
• Monitor and troubleshoot database systems effectively.
• Ensure Database Security
• Implement robust security measures.
• Monitor and enhance data protection
Qualifications:
Basic Required Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
• Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience as a DBA in a complex enterprise environment.
• Proficiency in SQL Server, Oracle, Postgres or other relational database management systems.
• Experience with automation tools and scripting languages (e.g., PowerShell, Python).
• Experience managing SQL Server databases in VMWare environments.
• Experience with Symantec NetBackup or equivalent backup solutions.
• Manage SQL Server databases in VM and cloud environments.
• Fluency in English and French (working proficiency in both languages). Fluency in French and English is required for this position to communicate with colleagues, customers, and partners located inside and outside of Quebec, as well as to understand technical documentation in the field of our industry.
• Must be legally authorized to work in Canada without corporate sponsorship now or in the future.
• Candidates must live within an 80-kilometer radius of the Brossard facility.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Relevant certifications, such as Microsoft Certified: Azure Database Administrator Associate or Oracle Database Administrator Certified Professional.
• Familiarity with cloud-based databases (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
• Experience with Hybrid Databases Combining Relational and NoSQL Technologies (e.g., MongoDB or similar)
• Understanding of database deployment and management in a cloud environment.

• Ability to set up alerts and respond to critical incidents.
