Kforce's client in Bernardsville, New Jersey (NJ) that is looking to bring on a high-level Data Warehouse Architect - SQL BI, Big Data to their growing organization. Summary: The Data Warehouse Architect will collaborate with our Senior Database Architect to establish a new data warehouse from the ground-up. This position is a hands-on development position, and one that provides technical leadership that will enhance the capabilities of the data warehouse information used for our customers, their field organizations, and back-office associates.

Responsibilities:

  • Architect, design, build, implement, and maintain solutions to meet business needs for the data warehouse and data mart environments using the Microsoft Business Intelligence stack
  • Works with the Senior Database Architect and Product Manager to meet the requirements of the Business Product Owner
  • Works with the VP of IT to align BI strategy with the long-term technology roadmap for the company
  • Provides technical direction to ETL developers, database developers, and application/BI developers to architect, design, and implement solutions
  • Stays current on the technology, tools, and approaches in the BI/DW/cloud space
  • Solves complex problems and develops proofs of concept to validate ideas or technologies
  • Contributes to and eventually owns best practice standards and templates for data warehouse design and architecture
  • Helps support the system and troubleshoots system related issues when moved into production

Supports, cooperates with, and implements specific procedures and programs for:

  • Safety, including universal precautions and safe work practices, established fire/safety/disaster plans, risk management, and security, report and/or correct unsafe working conditions, equipment repair and maintenance needs
  • Confidentiality of all data, including employee and operations data
  • Quality Assurance and compliance with all regulatory requirements

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or related discipline, or equivalent combination of education and experience required
  • Master's degree in Information Technology (although experience and capability are more highly valued) preferred
  • 8+ years of experience in Information Technology
  • 5+ years of experience architecting, designing, and developing BI/Data Warehouse solutions using the Microsoft BI stack (e.g. SQL Server, SSIS, SSAS, SSRS, Power BI, Azure)
  • 5+ years of experience working with SQL, SQL stored procedures, and relational/multidimensional databases
  • 5+ years of experience with data architecture/design in data warehouse and transactional environments
  • 5+ years of experience working with BI tool architectures, functions, and features
  • Experience with cloud (preferably Azure) development and services like SQL PaaS, or Data factory

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Big Data solutions such as Hadoop, data lakes, advanced analytics/data science, and machine learning
  • Proven ability to quickly learn new technologies
  • Knowledge of the healthcare industry
  • Experience with agile methodologies and supporting tools, particularly Scrum
  • Strong problem-solving capability
  • Ability to manage expectations in the face of multiple competing tasks/projects at the same time
  • Strong team and customer focus
