Department Overview

Lead day-to-day data governance activities for one or several business areas within Shared Services to ensure adherence to the Bank’s Data Governance requirements and standards. Work closely with the Office of the Chief Data Officer (OCDO), business partners, and other data stewards to support the bank’s data strategy and data governance standards. Engage and coordinate stakeholders, and, effectively communicate and manage changes and issues. For the Shared Services business line/s assigned support: data quality, metadata, data impact assessments due to project or processes changes, and data issue remediation tracking.

Job Description

• Support the data governance needs of Shared Services by identifying data governance gaps as well as recommending and implementing solutions to address these gaps
• Be the Shared Services data subject matter expert
• Ensure adherence to the OCDO Framework
• Educate and train Shared Services business partners and cross division business partners on data governance standards and requirements particularly as it applies to shared services
• Facilitate the identification of critical data and the appropriate management of that data
• Support, lead, and facilitate Shared Services data quality needs, including monitoring and defect resolution
• Support, lead, and facilitate management of Shared Services metadata
• Review business process and data processes to ensure sufficient data controls
• Ensure Shared Services compliance to the new Data Lifecycle Management standard and retention policy
• Own the coordination and education of stakeholder engagement in data related projects and changes to identify data impacts, opportunities for upfront data controls, adherence to data governance standards & assessment ofresource needs
• Identifies data impacts and coordinates impacted stakeholders as a result of changes to systems or processes
• Oversight and communication of all data issue and change management for Shared Services and remediation plan activities.
• Identify opportunities and lead/participate in solutions to enhance data controls, for Shared Services & AMCB such as OCDO DQ, Metadata & Retention solutions
• Provide direction and/or input to complex, wide ranging enterprise or cross-function / business projects / initiatives as a subject matter expert and where necessary participates in identifying, designing and testing solutions and supportingthe implementation

Requirements

• Undergraduate degree or technical certificate
• 7+ years relevant experience
• Knowledge of data governance/data management practices, enterprise data policy, standards &strategy
• Prefer experience/knowledge loan servicing, collections & recovery, payment operations
• Prefer experience/knowledge lending and deposit data analysis/reporting
• Prefer experience with analytical software tools, data analysis methods and reporting techniques
• Skill in mentoring/coaching others
• Proficient PC skills including a strong competency in MS Excel, PowerPoint, Visio
• Ability to communicate effectively in both oral and written form
• Ability to work collaboratively and build relationships
• Ability to work successfully as a member of a team and independently
• Strong facilitation skills including the ability to guide and advise
• Ability to analyze, organize and prioritize work while meeting multiple deadlines
• Ability to handle confidential information with discretion
• Ability to contribute to strategic direction of the function and provide advice to senior leadership
