HDR is looking for a Data Scientist to join our Water Business Group in either Charlotte, Raleigh, or Winston-Salem, NC. As a Data Scientist at HDR you will join a team of Utility Management Analysts, Utility Management Consultants, Data Scientists, and Data Engineers, on a combination of projects for HDR clients. Candidates should have a passion for problem solving from a data led perspective and with experience in data analytics and data science. Our Data Scientists work with a team of subject matter experts to produce high quality solutions, deliverables, and insights on large water utility projects, maximizing the use of the data in support our teams in delivering optimized solutions. Candidates should be able to collect and transform data, build data models, and generate insights. On a day-to-day basis, the Data Scientist will be expected to:
• Work independently, and be able to manage multiple projects and priorities
• Deal with ambiguity, think critically, analyze and interpret data
• Demonstrate strong analytical, visualization and communication skills
• Perform at a high-level as a self-starter with a strong customer service focus
• Work with clients and groups
• Work responsibly with confidential and private information
• Handle special projects and other duties as assigned
• Potentially travel up to 25% of the time
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, Management Information Systems, Operations Research, Industrial Engineering, Analytics, Data Science, Econometrics, or related field required
Minimum of five (5) years of related experience required
Master's degree in similar field preferred
Local candidates are preferred
