Job Description
Fueled by a fundamental belief that having access to financial services creates opportunity, PayPal (NASDAQ: PYPL) is committed to democratizing financial services and empowering people and businesses to join and thrive in the global economy. Our open digital payments platform gives PayPal’s 375 million active account holders the confidence to connect and transact in new and powerful ways, whether they are online, on a mobile device, in an app, or in person. Through a combination of technological innovation and strategic partnerships, PayPal creates better ways to manage and move money, and offers choice and flexibility when sending payments, paying or getting paid. Available in more than 200 markets around the world, the PayPal platform, including Braintree, Venmo and Xoom enables consumers and merchants to receive money in more than 100 currencies, withdraw funds in 56 currencies and hold balances in their PayPal accounts in 25 currencies.
PayPal’s Global Credit Risk, Seller Risk and Collection (GCSC) team is looking to fill a critical role on our Risk Intelligence team. This role will support and guide analytic efforts that help inform and drive strategic decisions as our suite of Consumer Credit and Merchant lending products expand globally. This highly visible and versatile role will regularly engage with Risk and Credit Leadership, Consumer and Merchant teams, Finance, Collections and Seller Risk Operations teams to provide solutions for challenging business problems through a combination of routine reporting, monitoring, ad-hoc analytics and data story telling. As an analytics professional, you will manage the delivery of high quality monitoring and reporting solutions by managing the efforts of multiple business intelligence development teams. These efforts range from small, single stream outputs to large-scale multi-stream efforts in a complex, fast-paced, dynamic environment. In this role, you will identify, translate, prioritize and drive the execution of high-quality data solutions delivering actionable insights for our different stakeholders across the GCSC team. Together with the Business Intelligence development team and our Global Data Service, you will partner to create simple trustworthy data pipelines and build automated reporting to surface key metrics. Our team leverages a combination of tools and technologies used across the enterprise (e.g., Qlik Sense, SQL, Tableau, etc.) to develop and maintain a suite of monitoring and reporting solutions to support our most senior risk executives. As a thought leader, you will recommend new performance monitoring metrics and/or changes to existing metric frameworks ensuring what we measure stays relevant for our evolving Credit business. You will work with leadership to maintain an active roadmap of analytic projects and help guide the evolution and maturation of our Risk Intelligence solutions framework. You will manage the business intelligence demand intake (request) and prioritization (governance) process for existing solutions across a variety of internal stakeholders overseeing the delivery efforts for active projects. Additionally, you will aid in the development and implementation of processes for building new solutions from discovery through delivery. While your primary role is to manage and lead the efforts of others, you must be comfortable with being both player (at times) and coach. When required, you must possess the ability and willingness to “roll up your sleeves” to help perform analytical deep dives to identify problems, opportunities and outline specific action plans. During active projects, you will guide our internal clients through the requirements gathering and solution planning phases to formulate project scope, schedule and resource requirements. You will help articulate both business and technical needs to our developer team and data partners to facilitate building the best solutions possible. You will provide day to day project management, coordination of activities and communicate key project updates.
