This position serves as a thought leader, supporting efforts to translate PSCU’s Data Science learnings into actionable analytic insights both internally and for our Member Owner Credit Unions. Prospective will be immersing into businesses units throughout PSCU to determine where opportunities exist to extract value and to prioritize efforts. Through deep understanding of PSCU data and analytics, prospective will build, influence, and inform actionable insights, direction, strategic and tactical related to business and credit union needs.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Work with leadership teams to identify business priorities for which insights are critical. Define the expected outcome of investment in insights, and then define, lead and execute the agreed programs of work
  • Build effective relationships and collaborate with senior leaders and their business unit to solve organizational problems by prioritizing work, managing multiple work streams and high pressure situations
  • Provide Prescriptive Analytics based recommendations to end users based on Predictive Analytics findings. Illustrate how remediation and forecasting differ as part of that process
  • Explain advanced Data Science concepts (clustering, regression, liner optimization, classification and regression tress) to stakeholders and articulate the business impact of selecting various models and techniques for a given use case
  • Liaise with the Data Science team providing business requirements for modelling and ensuring the results properly align with business goals and objectives
  • Partner with other subject matter experts and decision makers to develop data-driven policies, models or decision-support tools to improve efficiency and position PSCU as a leader in analytics

    · Lead the identification, development and execution of insight-generating initiatives to drive business decisions and their translation into strategies and tactical execution plans that achieve financial goals and operational efficiency across the enterprise

    · Establish and lead a range of customer insight techniques including co-creation sessions, internal stakeholder workshops, and meetings with Credit Unions

  • Establish oneself as an advanced analytics insights evangelist, serve as a resource and subject matter expert on analytics tools and best practices
  • Develop insight programs from inception to execution, including working with business counterparts on the execution of recommendations and demonstration of business impact
  • Partner with key organizational stakeholders and departments to understand their key business and marketing challenges, assess and prioritize opportunities, and work efforts based on ROI and business impact
  • Provide thought leadership in design of methods and selection of data set(s) to be employed to bring data driven insight to internal/external users and clearly communicate benefits of approaching problems given a specific data set and analytical plan
  • Other responsibilities as required

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

This is an individual contributor role, no supervisory responsibilities.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

· Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistic, Business or equivalent combination of work experience and education in relevant subject area required

  • Master’s in Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistic, Business or an advanced degree in quantitative analysis preferred
  • Minimum of 5 years of professional experience with a strong background in data analysis and statistical modeling or professional experience in a data driven environment
  • Minimum of 7 years’ experience in the Financial Services industry with particular emphasis on Credit Card processing

    · Five (5) years managerial or oversight experience in a role which required generating insights and execution

    · Ability to travel up to 25% as needed

  • Proficiency and comfort working with others to generate analytic insight and delivering insights to executives and ensuring business action
  • Demonstrated sound decision making and conflict resolution skills in working with senior business unit leaders, peers, financial institutions and vendors
  • Ability to travel as needed to successfully perform position responsibilities
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of materials handled
  • Ability to be flexible and work under high pressure in a complex environment
