JOB SUMMARY
This position is a technical spokesperson for the Business Intelligence group who contributes to plans and design of non-biller system architecture. The focus is to maintain and develop capabilities for enterprise reporting and data products. This person promotes a common understanding of BI strategic objectives and requirements. The roles includes liaison with Business and IT partners to coordinate and communicate changes in upstream systems that serve or impact the BI data assets and reporting.
At the highest level, the role is focused on developing and promoting standards, processes, and principles for architecture and data governance that supports BI solutions. It involves working with senior management of the BI group and its business and IT partners to jointly develop architectural solutions and business transformation plans to maintain and improve data quality, availability, and business utility. In addition, the role includes liaison and coordination between BI teams and partner groups to solve related business problems. This person works independently with minimal instruction and provides skilled guidance in areas of specialization.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Works with BI’s upstream data providers to ensure that source data is interpreted appropriately, is well-maintained to ensure ongoing accuracy, and is integrated into the enterprise reporting architecture according to best practices
Establishes a shared mission of good governance, powered by a clear understanding of each agreed-upon guiding principle and a mutual recognition of the consequences of noncompliance
Effectively administers procedures for data governance and reference data management fostering best practices and creating a culture of consistency, accountability and continuous improvement
Works closely with BI’s business vertical and technical teams to administer the processes and paradigms that support the needs of BI’s customers and ensure speed to market while restricting short-term work-arounds and hard-coded logic
Provides architecture leadership, technical and subject matter expertise, and process facilitation for multiple development projects
Manages and tracks BI participation in the enterprise business change management process; assesses impact of upstream system changes to BI reporting; coordinates review by BI business vertical groups to identify and facilitate remediation of specific impacts
Leads intradepartmental and cross-functional efforts to support timely completion of BI deliverables
Compiles and reports on progress of daily activities to management and escalates issues as needed
Performs other related duties as assigned



REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Skills/Abilities and Knowledge
Ability to quickly adapt to fluid business environment and quickly master new concepts and technologies
Understanding of data integration methodologies, data warehousing concepts, logical/physical database design and dimensional modeling, SQL databases, and BI reporting tools
Knowledge of Reference Data Management (RDM) tools, concepts and practices
Demonstrated success in facilitating intradepartmental and cross-functional collaboration
Strong project management skills
Ability to handle multiple concurrent projects and tasks
Ability to work both independently and in collaboration with other team members
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Ability to communicate in a clear and straightforward manner (written and verbal) with a broad range of technical and non-technical users and stakeholders
Ability to prepare clear and concise documentation for technical and business audiences

Education
Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or related field, or equivalent experience

Related Work Experience
8+ years experience in the areas of Data Warehousing and Business Intelligence
5+ years Telecommunications

WORKING CONDITIONS
Office environment
Occasional travel to other Charter offices within the United States required
