Position Description

The Data Governance SME should have 6-10 years of experience in Pharmaceutical and/or Biotech Data Governance and Management. He/she must have experience launching and leading Data Governance-related projects in GxP environments; preferably the candidate will have had experience strategically leading a Data Governance Board. He or she must be comfortable and proficient in proactively interacting directly with clients on an ongoing basis and managing their expectations. In addition, the candidate should be adept at coordinating between cross-functional and global teams, gathering and communicating business requirements, and strategically solving Data Governance-related problems. Candidate should have knowledge of regulatory/legal standards with regard to data, and must have a familiarity with data governance software tools.


FUTURE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Launch Enterprise Data Governance Board (EDGB) and support the launch of Cluster Data Governance Councils

• Work with a global and cross-functional team to elecit input into Data Governance policies

• Developing and getting approval of Data Governance policies and metrics working in collaboration globally across clients to align for the enterprise

• Defining and getting approval of the process for compliance with and escalation of non-compliance with data governance policies

SKILLS / KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED

• Bachelor’s degree (preferred in Biology, Chemistry, Engineering, Computer Science, or Communications) OR equivalent work experience

• Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills

• Highly organized

• Ability to analyze, articulate and solve problems

• Ability to learn quickly, move with agility between assignments, multi-task, and to work effectively in a team environment, both face-to-face and remotely

• Knowledge of regulatory and legal data/information policies and standards throughout the data lifecycle

• Knowledge of data governance software tools and experience developing business requirements

• Experience in good data governance and management practice, relevant data Life Science domain experience and relevant domain business processes.
