Job Description

Administrative

* Possess strong inter-personal and communication skills; writing proposals and papers, acting as a vendor liaison, making presentations to client audiences or making professional presentations, works closely with upper management. Ability to communicate ideas and relate to business function and value.

* Teaches, demonstrates, or by other methods imparting knowledge to others

* Keeps manager informed of status of assigned tasks and activities through accurate, timely, and appropriate status reporting.

* Mentors and coaches the team

* Controls team forecasts, assigns work, and delegates as appropriate

* Makes final decisions, sets direction for team activities

Projects

* Provides estimates, and owns plans for larger/more complex projects and initiatives

* Accountable for delivery of design, and sets priorities for self and team

* Directs which data governance strategies and standards will be used in enterprise data governance solutions

* Approves and owns the designs produced, and institutes consistency across systems

* Publish standards for data governance strategies, methodologies, and processes

* Manage high priority issues and direct teams on resolution

Strategic

* Originates strategic approaches to expand usage of technology standard tools on projects and other initiatives

* Work across the organization to help champion the value of data governance


* Lead Effort to develop and deliver a Data Governance Framework, including policies, procedures, and best practices
* Owns and publishes data governance policies, best practices, and processes to handle existing assets

* Promotes use of Comerica's Strategy

* Sets direction on the use of industry trends, technology, and techniques

* Presents overall metrics on principles, strategies, and standards applied, to measure the value and quality provided to the organization

* Delivers value through instructing team on principles of reuse, extension, expansion and maintenance of components

* Manage the inventory and evolution of system components

Risk Management

* Approves actions, in accordance with corporate policies and guidelines

* Authorizes security patterns included in the design

* Enforces the inclusion Security Risk standards in design

* Manages through remediation, of system vulnerability

* Decides direction to resolve control issues

Qualifications

    • Bachelor's Degree in a business relevant discipline and 10 years of Information Technology experience or High School diploma or GED and 14 years of Information Technology experience
    • 5 years of experience with data governance framework, including defining the mission, creating data governance policies, rules, and standards, design and deploying the program, and monitoring, measuring, and reporting effectiveness
    • 5 years of experience with data governance tools such as business glossary, data quality, and metadata management
    • 5 years of experience in Master Data Management strategy and implementation
    • 5 years of experience mastering current technology, cross training others, identifying new industry trends and techniques
    • 5 years of experience providing guidance to other analysts
    • 3 years of experience making presentations to client audiences and upper management
