The Data Governance Lead, Business Management, is responsible for the governance of data specific to TRP ETFs across Individual Investor platforms, reporting systems, and databases. The Data Governance Lead works closely with Individual Investors (II) business partners, including Global Investment Management Services-United States Investors (GIMS-USI), Global Business Solutions (GBS), Enterprise Product, Finance, Legal, Compliance, and II Client Experience to provide data stewardship and to ensure consistency across the enterprise, as applicable. The role may provide input and recommendations to initiatives supporting the data strategy to maintain consistency and efficiency in governing data across the firm. As a key expert on ETF data across the enterprise, the lead also will provide input on data governance controls or procedures for use in digital client experiences across II and GIMS-USI or in internal systems (e.g. Client Facing CRM).


Data Governance – Aligns ETF data to enterprise data domains. Works with the business team to assign or enumerate appropriate data accountability roles and responsibilities. In coordination with

other Data Governance stakeholders, establishes and implements an ETF data governance framework aligned to the data strategy to ensure compliance with the Enterprise Data Governance Policy and Standards and privacy laws. Identifies data in scope for privacy related regulations and builds or ensures governance processes are in place to achieve regulatory compliance. This may also include collaborating with technical teams to build governance into existing technology and leading associated change management (stakeholder communications, training on how to use the data catalog). This will require building strong relationships with internal stakeholders to ensure buy-in and alignment to business goals. Ensures communications to all stakeholders are effective and timely.

The lead will also be responsible for ensuring ETF governance, controls, and requirements align as applicable across business units to ensure scalability.

Metadata Management -- In coordination with Legal, Compliance, Product Owners, Business Leaders, and Technology partners, facilitates conversations around ETF data definitions, content, and metadata. Collects, defines, and classifies metadata and related definitions for ETFs and their application across the enterprise to facilitate discovery of data assets and their business use in 40% TRP's metadata management solution. Partners with the business team to iteratively develop the metadata management solution, providing feedback or requirements as needed to automate data governance compliance. Researches data lineage as needed to support data change and issues management.

Data Governance Performance Reporting and Monitoring - Establishes key performance indicators (KPIs) as needed to measure or report data governance progress and prove business value. Ensures KPIs and reporting are appropriately aligned with current and future business goals and strategy. Ensures data governance initiatives impacting business units are proactively communicated across impacted associates. Leads business process documentation and improvement initiatives.



  • College degree and 4 years of related work experience, or
  • Associate degree and 6 years related work experience, or
  • High School diploma/equivalent and 8 years related work experience
  • Strong execution abilities and proven to have delivered results
  • Proven ability to be strategic and creative to solve complex business problems
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong functional skills in financial analysis, financial planning, and management reporting
  • Outstanding financial, technical, and quantitative analytical skills
  • Demonstrated ability to develop new problem-solving approaches leveraging business and analytical skills
  • Flexibility in handling multiple priorities in fast changing environment

  • Experience in financial services industry and with ETFs specifically
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Math, Information Systems, Computer Science
  • Background in dashboard development and providing business intelligence solutions
  • Experience in Data governance
  • 5-7 years of progressive experience in a similar area
