Data Center Operations Analyst 2
Data Center Operations Analyst: Applies professional-level technical skill and judgment to provide non-routine technical support for computer/data center operations. Installs, configures and troubleshoots server and non-desktop computer hardware, software, systems and other resources in a data center or other centralized computer network setting. Maintains access control, data integrity and file system security for the computer/data center environment. Monitors, tracks and records system performance and utilization metrics. Communicates highly technical information to both technical and nontechnical personnel. Recommends process, hardware and software solutions, including new acquisitions and upgrades, to improve computer/data center efficiency. May participate in development of information technology and infrastructure projects.
May be internal or external, client-focused, working in conjunction with Professional Services and outsourcing functions. May include company-wide, web-enabled solutions.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Works with application and system owners to gather requirements needed to design, implement and change the most complex batch job schedules using the corporate scheduling software (e.g., Control^M) in both Development/Test & Production environments
Monitors Control^M schedule; troubleshoots issues including leading root cause analysis exercises
Sets up production control policies and procedures (e.g., code migration approvals, change scheduling) and ensures compliance with them
Identifies, proposes and leads projects to implement new processes and tools to enhance the effectiveness and efficiency of the production control function
Supports critical system platforms, both domestic and international, and provides 24x7 support in a rotation with other team members
Sets up and manages jobs to securely send/receive data from external customers and partners
Other assigned duties as required
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
Minimum Required Qualifications for Consideration:
BS/BA (Engineering or Computer Science a plus) with 2-5 years computer/network operations experience
Experience operating in a distributed data center environment with Linux and/or Windows;
Expert problem isolation, analysis and resolution skills
At least 2 years’ experience managing and maintaining an automated scheduler
Experience with AWS
Project management experience on medium-large projects
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Successfully complete a background investigation
Master’s Degree a plus
Experience managing Control^M automated scheduler preferred
Works on problems of moderate scope where analysis of situations or data requires a review of a variety of factors.
Exercises judgment within defined procedures and practices to determine appropriate action.
Builds productive internal/external working relationships.
