Role Summary: Data Center Account Managers are responsible for end-user account leadership within the Data Center Industry. Int his role you will organize strategic account planning and drive a matrix team of Sales managers, Sales Agents, Technical Solutions Architects and Commercial Operation resources to win opportunities encompassing all Industrial Solutions: Electrical Distribution, DC Power, Critical Power and Industrial Service. Essential Responsibilities: As the Data Center Account Manager, you will:

  • Drive end-user preference for GE Solution Sales of product lines such as UPS, Paralleling Switchgear, Automatic Transfer Switches, Power Transformers, Substations, Switchgear, Switchboards, Bus-way, Panel-boards, Power Management / Automation / Software, and Service Solutions which tie in product lines within GE
  • Direct sales responsibility at select General and Electrical Contractors. Utilize existing sales team for accounts not covered directly.
  • Develop executive level strategic customer relationships with key decision makers in the Mission Critical / Data Center and other Critical Power markets
  • Collaborate with local sales, engineering and commercial operations teams to develop and deliver innovative solutions
  • Develop written strategies for pursuing opportunities at strategic customer accounts
  • Conduct Operating Plan and Account reviews
  • Provide feedback regarding market, product, and competition trends and customer needs to product line marketing
  • Partner with the other GE Specification / Technical Application Engineers to create GE Basis of Design solutions at end users
  • Lead system commercial operation team providing proposal’s, value engineering alternatives, and terms review.
  • Manage team’s travel and living expense budget


  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university or college
  • Minimum of 7 years of direct sales, account or team leadership experience
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in electrical / critical power industry sales or product business team role


  • Ability and willingness to travel approximately 40% of the time as required

Desired Characteristics:

  • Good working knowledge of PowerPoint, Excel, and Word required
  • Demonstrated capability of leading technical sales development team, along with strong T&C negotiation capabilities
  • Executive presence and selling and closing skills and technical competency with Critical Power Equipment Products / Services
  • Demonstrated excellent communication and presentation skills with all levels of management: executive, engineering and operations
  • Strong interpersonal skills with emphasis on relationship / team building
