Support the acquisition, and systems integration engineering of the Multifunctional Information Distribution System (MIDS)/Link 16 on the F/A-18 A-F and EA-18G model aircraft as well as MIDS/Tactical Targeting NetworkTechnology (TTNT) on the F/A-18 E-F and EA-18G model aircraft.
Essential Job Functions:
Attend labs and flight briefs, as able, to observe and obtain data respective to anomalies discovered during test.
Analyze aircraft 1553 MUX data and MIDS terminal data based on these anomalies and to verify message structure as deemed necessary by the MIDS Product Lead.
Communicate orally and in a written report of the findings to the applicable Test Engineer with copies to the Product Lead and Task Team Lead.
Support and participate, as able, in all events pertaining to the integration effort of the MIDS system.
Develop the skills of a MIDS Systems Engineer.
Conduct lab test events as necessary to gather additional data relevant to anomalies under investigation.
The incumbent will develop the skills necessary to serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) on MIDS/L16 and MIDS/TTNT aircraft integration issues with respect to the data flow of messages between terminals and messages between the mission computer and terminal.
Due to the sensitivity of customer related requirements, U.S. Citizenship is required.
High school diploma/GED plus 13 years of relevant experience, or Associate's-level (AA/AS/Technical school) plus 7 years of relevant experience or a Bachelors degree plus 5years of relevant experience.
Must be able to be granted a security clearance and maintain one for the duration of employment.
Experience with avionics bus integration in accordance with applicable standards including MIL-STD-1553 and systems requirement and interface publications such as Mission System Operation and Functional Description (MSOFD), and Interface Control Document (ICD).
Have skills in airborne systems analysis, development, and operation to support integration efforts.
