Facilitate the creation and maintenance materials design properties databases within GRANTA MI through the development of scripts for managing the data and information flow. Capitalize on all the functionalities available within the software to improve group productivity and enhance the user experience . Use knowledge of Python, JAVAScript, Visual Basic, and/or otherscriptinglanguages to facilitate the analysis and management of data and information between GRANTA databases and other software applications (Microsoft excel, SAS JMP, Minitab, text/ascii files, xml etc.)

Statistically analyze test data for generation of material property curves used for design and analysis of engine components. Document work in report format and applicable material property databases.

Work with PW suppliers and Materials and Processes Engineering groups to support their efforts for capturing, analyzing and re-use of materials information generated during production and alloy development programs.

The desired candidate will be able to work independently as well as in small teams to evaluate requirements and determine solutions to streamline and automate the data/information management workflow

Qualification: Five years of relevant experience.
Required Fluency in Python, XML/XSLT, JavaScript, VBA, HTML and Advanced Excel Skills.
Required skills in database maintenance and SQL.
GRANTA MI software, database creation/maintenance, programming experience is preferred.
Understanding of metallurgy fundamentals is preferred.
Statistical analysis (SAS JMP or similar) experience is desirable.
Understanding of materials test techniques is desired.
Education: BS in Engineering, Computer Science or Mathematics. A major or concentration in Materials Engineering or Metallurgy is preferred but not required.
