Dams, Levees, & Civil Works Business Class Leader in Northern California

Primary Responsibilities

The Business Class (BC) Leader for Dams, Levees and Civil Works is responsible for the direction, control and profitability of the Dams, Levees and Civil Works BC in Northern California. The duties of the Dams, Levees and Civil Works Business Class Lead are to plan, direct and oversee all aspects of large scale multi-discipline and multi-benefit projects with a high degree of technical complexity. The position will build and maintain client relations and participate in project development and contract document preparation. The person will mentor mid- and junior-level staff across a variety of disciplines. The position will participate in and provide oversight of a variety of project types including planning, design, inspection and construction management of coastal and riverine flood risk management projects; dams and reservoirs; ecosystem restoration; drainage; and general site civil.The position will coordinate projects with inter-related disciplines such as hydrology, hydraulics, structural, geology, geotechnical, civil, mechanical, CADD and GIS.  He/she will oversee the quality assurance/quality control program for the Northern California Dams, Levees and Civil Works BC. Qualifications

 

Required Qualifications

BS in civil, structural or geotechnical engineering required,  MSpreferred. 10+ years related experience. Experience as a task lead and or project manager in a consulting business is preferred. Applicants must be self-starters that are highly motivated and team oriented. Excellent problem-solving and communication skills and the ability to assimilate data and put into a big picture context are essential. Applicants must have extensive experiencedesigning and directing large complex multi-discipline projects. Strong technical writing abilities, solid engineering background, and effective presentation skills are necessary for this position. A positive attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must.
