Cybersecurity Engineer, Senior
Provide Cybersecurity engineering services to DoD communications programs. Conceptualize, design, and build secure technical solutions, including applications, systems, architectures, and infrastructure that are operationally viable and efficient. Leverage security products and technologies to protect the organization’s systems and information and enable achievement of the organization’s objectives. Research and analyze emerging technologies and design and build architectures and solutions to enable secure implementation of new technologies. Serve as a Cybersecurity and Information Assurance (IA) engineer throughout all stages of system acquisition, development, and maintenance. Interpret guidance, including the Risk Management Framework (RMF), for clients and provide information and input for the preparation of packages. Provide advice and direction to program managers and other functional area subject matter experts (SMEs) representing Cybersecurity and IA policies and regulations at programmatic events and provide subject matter expertise to the Cybersecurity lead for the program. This position is located in San Diego, CA.
-Experience with the Risk Management Framework (RMF) and CyberSAFE implementation of Information Assurance Technical Authority (IA TA) standards
-Experience with conducting Cybersecurity testing, including DoD STIGs, Nessus, and ACAS and managing Linux and network devices, including Cisco and others
-Experience with conducting software assurance reviews, including performing code review or code analysis
-Knowledge of the DoD acquisitions process, including Cybersecurity milestones and events and DoD Cybersecurity T&E phases
-Knowledge of the Navy’s Cross Domain Solution (CDS) test and approval process
-Ability to perform Cybersecurity systems engineering tasking, including analysis of security requirements' development and management, software development, networking protocols, and Cybersecurity risk management
-Secret clearance required
-BA or BS degree or 8+ years of experience with system engineering, including implementing Cybersecurity into system design
-Experience with DoD acquisitions, including the DoD 5000 series preferred
-Experience with the implementation of IA principles, National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) special publications, federal regulations, security standards, and DoD and DON policies
-Knowledge of cross-domain solution (CDS) processes preferred
-Ability to obtain an IA Workforce 8570 Certification within 6 months of hire
