Brief Description

LinQuest is seeking a Cyber Security Analyst to join our team in Colorado Springs, Colorado. We are looking for a qualified and motivated candidate to support an agile team focused on the engineering, development, integration, and sustainment of evolving ground system architectures for the command and control of Air Force space systems. This candidate should be a self-starter with a strong track record of success in a collaborative and high operations tempo environment. This position will be part of a multi-disciplinary team and require a diverse skill set and ability to work across multiple projects and several geographic regions.


Designs, tests, and implements secure operating systems, networks, security monitoring, tuning and management of IT security systems and applications, incident response, digital forensics, loss prevention, and eDiscovery actions

Conducts risk and vulnerability assessment at the network, system and application level

Develops and implements security controls and formulates operational risk mitigations, assist in security awarenessInvolved in a wide range of security issues including architectures, firewalls, electronic data traffic, and network access.

Researches, evaluates and recommends new security tools, techniques, and technologies and introduces them to the enterprise in alignment with IT security strategy

Utilizes COTS/GOTS and custom tools and processes/procedures in order to scan, identify, contain, mitigate and remediate vulnerabilities, and intrusions

Assists in the implementation of the required government policy (i.e., NISPOM, DCID 6/3), and makes recommendations on process tailoring

Performs analyses to validate established security requirements and to recommend additional security requirements and safeguards

Supports the formal Security Test and Evaluation (ST&E) required by each government accrediting authority through pre-test preparations, participation in the tests, analysis of the results, and preparation of required reports

Periodically conducts a review of each system's audits and monitors corrective actions until all actions are closed

May support cyber metrics development, maintenance and reporting

May provide briefings to senior staff


DoD 8570 IAM 2 compliance: CISSP or equivalent

Ability to initiate, track, report, and deliver Certification and Accreditation (C&A) and Assessment and Authorization (A&A) documentation, artifacts, and packages for operational systems in accordance with Risk Management Framework (RMF) guidelines

Ability to develop, maintain, and implement Cybersecurity Implementation Plan (CSIP), Program Protection and Implementation Assurance Program, and similar plans and programs

Effective interpersonal and team-building skills, to engage at both the team and management levels to build confidence and collaboration

Clear and concise written and verbal communications skills – the ability to convey concepts in white papers, MS PowerPoint presentations and participate in open forum discussions

Excellent organization skills

Ability to participate and present at meetings for prime and customer leadership

Preferred Skill

Mission Defense Toolkit and/or equivalent

Required Experience

5 - 10 years' cybersecurity experience, preferably for space and/or ground (satellite C2) systems

Bachelors in Engineering, Information Technology, or other Technical field

Experience with NIST and DoD Cybersecurity and Information Assurance programs, including RMF

Preferred Experience

3 or more years' experience supporting Defensive Cyber Operations
