Manage the daily import/ export of all automotive parts and vehicles via air/ocean to ensure shipments are handled in accordance with U.S. Customs & Border Protection (CBP), Canadian Border Services Agency(CBSA) and other government agency regulations as well as Porsche policies and procedure;
Manage and assign tariff classification to ensure accuracy of all imported products meet the applicable customs laws;
Supervise customer vehicle shipments that are transported via airfreight into the US or Canada;
Manage the process for all Special-Purpose vehicle shipments;
Arrange export bookings and Automated Export System (AES) filings for ocean freight returns;
Manage requests, approvals and reporting for all Partner Government Agencies (PGA's) for all North American Companies;
Supervise and process Customs issues for Porsche Canada border-crossing vehicle clearances including:
U.S. export documentation, Canadian import documentation, U.S. return documentation and Maintain Schedule VII renewals
Review and approve vendor invoices and maintain shipment entry packets for recordkeeping and audit purposes;
Interface with international and domestic partners, stakeholders, foreign subsidiaries, distributors, vendors, customs brokers and carriers to ensure compliance with all applicable import/export regulations;
Maintain the entry listing logs for compliance tracking on all vehicle types including special purpose;
Reconcile Periodic Monthly Statements (U.S. and CA Duty payment);
Provide guidance to Porsche user departments, Porsche AG, Porsche Canada and other Porsche subsidiaries on proper Customs procedures;
Support Internal Control Systems, perform internal Customs self-assessment audits utilizing the Automated Commercial Environment and Importer Trade Activity (ITRAC) reports and implement corrective actions and/or training;
Identify process gaps, drive continuous process improvement and automation;
Assist with the business case on implementing a Global Trade Management solution;
Prepare monthly KPI reports (ACE, monitor outstanding invoices and department transaction volumes);
Provide group support to US, CA and Germany to minimize risks ofimport and export activities;
Ensures trade and duty reduction programs comply with all customs laws and regulations;
Support CTPAT program to ensure Porsche's various supply chains are in accordance with the program requirements;
Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Logistics, or equivalent are of study;
U.S. Customs Brokerage License a plus.
Minimum of 10 years related work experience;
Minimum of 5 years of supervisory experience;
Minimum 5 years in the import/export Automotive industry;
Expert knowledge of the Harmonized Tariff Schedule and classification principals;
Expert knowledge with PGA requirements such as; EPA, DOT, DOC, NHSTA, FCC, FDA, CPSC.
Minimum 2 years' experience coordinating and participating in import/export audits.
Familiar with U.S. Customs ACE system.
Must possess advanced computer skills and a strong understanding ofMS Excel and MS Power Point and SAP experience a plus.
