Job Description Mission
The CTM role must 1) understand the key market and customer trends, 2) promote them within ES Product and Technology road maps and 3) represent existing and future ES Products, Technology & Solutions to customers, OEMs and others.
The CTM role is the role of an entrepreneur within the organization. Is responsible for managing the Market and Customer trends and needs against Continental's products and services. The role has a forward thinking and predictive dimension to anticipate opportunities and manage their execution within PL NA.
Customer Interface: Acquire strong knowledge on customer/client needs. Help influence the technology decision that are best suited for the customer and Continental. Manage customer relations from the technology perspective in order to maximize the number of acquisition opportunities.
Market Trends & Analysis: Obtain advance knowledge of market practices and provide comprehensive analysis of the customer needs. Prepare presentations to effectively communicate status, highlights, risks and/or mitigation plans to Senior Management and the Customer. Technology: Understand and keep up to date with Continental's Technology road map, evaluate and provide feedback on specific Technology needs based on market trends and increase Continental's market share of current and future products and technologies. Be the technical interface within the customer's engineering groups and departments.
Business Growth: Act as and support the acquisition/quotation leader for the assigned customers. Increase sales volumes and margins.
Competencies / Required Knowledge
Powertrain Engine Systems:
Knows existing processes and rules and internal decision-making structures
Knows the methods, tools and contact persons for leading and managing the project
Knows Continental and its environment, the corporate strategy and its goals
Engineering knowledge Engine Management Systems, sub-systems and components
Familiar with existing system/product platforms and ES technology road map
Proficient knowledge on production technologies and manufacturing processes
Understands key trends of customer and promotes them within ES
Understands and represents existing and future ES products and Solutions
Communicate effectively with customers regarding technology and product road maps
Identify business opportunities arising from market trends
Technical interface with customers engineering department(s) – non project specific
Estimate and financially assess risks of new venture and product offerings
Develop risk reduction strategies for the introduction of new products and technologies to different customers
Define and implement risk mitigation measures
Support the quotation phase together with sales department
Knows the Product Life Cycle
Customer counterpart and responsible for advanced projects and studies with the OEM
Align and manage team members from different countries
Job Requirements Basic Qualifications
Bachelor degree in engineering or science.
3 years in Sales & Marketing with strategic and business experience
2 years leadership experience in the area of Project Management or Technical Project Leader for medium to large Projects

10 years experience in the automotive or consumer electronics industry in a variety of functions with 3 to 5 years in a technical role
Master's in engineering, business or marketing preferred
2 years experienced in the role of project and functional leadership of a team with the minimum size of 6 (direct or indirect) employees from different disciplines
