Dimensions / Supervisory Responsibilities:

 

Supervisory Responsibility:     9 staff including two supervisory personnel

Budget Responsibility:             Need to establish

Revenue:                                 Department issues and collects $9M annually

Population Served:                   22,800

Customers:                               8,100 billed for water, sewer and trash quarterly

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is seldom exposed to outside weather conditions and most duties are performed in an office environment. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

Required Skills

Work Experience Needed:

 

  • Minimum of 5 years business experience in the areas of payment processing, collections and customer service
  • Minimum of two years’ experience with customer information and meter reading systems administration
  • At least five years of experience working at supervisory level or above
  • Basic understanding of financial accounting

 

Education/Equivalent:

 

  • BS degree in Accounting, Business Administration or the equivalent experience
  • Some college work in computer systems and programming is required
  • Valid driver’s license in state of residence is required and must meet risk management guidelines.

 

Special Skills/Abilities Needed:

 

  • Strong knowledge of MS Office Suite, distributed processing (client/server operations), and basic telecommunications connectivity. Knowledge of InCode and Itron Meter reading systems is a plus.
  • Familiarization with Report Writer software is desirable
  • Excellent problem-solving skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to perform multiple tasks, manage time efficiently and be self-motivated
