Customer Service Engineer II specializing in servicingDiagnostic Chemistry equipment needed in the Pittsburgh, PA area.
Shift: 4-10'sSaturday - Tuesday.
The Field Service Technician is a field-based,customer-facing role that installs, services, maintains and modifies Siemensin-vitro diagnostic equipment at our customer sites, primarily in the clinicallaboratory. We take a holistic approach in solving our customers' toughestproblems. Our FSTs represent the \"Face of Siemens\" to the customer.
The Field Service Technician reports to the Regional ServiceManager at Siemens Healthcare Diagnostics.
The Field Service Technician's responsibilities includeinstalling, troubleshooting, repairing and performing preventative maintenanceon all Siemens Healthcare Diagnostics instrumentation (primarily Dimension andVista Chemistry products) at customer sites with minimal supervision.Responsible for delivering both timely and effective repairs as well as adequatetraining of operators to ensure optimal system performance, resulting insuperior customer satisfaction. Manage financial performance within theirterritory, meeting or exceeding budget for revenue generation, expense controland inventory management. Manage company assets to include a company car, cellphone, computer, tools, inventory parts, etc. Establish and maintain properbusiness relationships with customers and peers, as well as performingnecessary administrative duties accurately.
Required Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience:
Minimum high school diploma; technical Associates Degree orequivalent preferred. Must be proficient in the use of tools and service testequipment, with the ability to work both individually and in an established teamsetting. 5+ years experience as a medical technologist or field serviceengineer (biomedical engineer) servicing diagnostic instruments needed. Must bea self-starter with strong customer service skills, as well as excellentcommunication skills needed. Need to have the ability to operate remotely fromthe main office with minimum supervision. Must demonstrate excellent judgmentin customer relations and in managing company resources; strong competency ininstrument systems technology to include mechanics, electrical, chemistry, andsoftware technology; experience with electronics, hydraulic and pneumaticsystems. Must be able to interface with customers in a positive professionalmanner, as well as the ability to think and act in a logical and methodicalway. Must be computer literate in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint and beable to utilize computer-based tools for reports, e-mail and for generalcommunication. Current valid driver's license and good driving record over lastthree years is required. Must be willing to work different shifts as businessneeds dictate and have the ability to travel and provide service in assignedgeography. Need to have the willingness to participate in an on-call rotationafter training and certification is completed. Background or coursework inchemistry, biology or natural sciences is very helpful.
