New opportunity exists for a board certified critical care intensivist to help lead the building of a comprehensive, dedicated 24/7 cardiac intensive care service. 3-5 years of dedicated cardiac surgical ICU experience is required. Join a growing group of 12 intensivists, working with 40 cardiologists and 5 cardiovascular surgeons, in developing a collaborative program centered around critical care cardiac surgery, critical care cardiology, and mechanical circulatory support patients. OSF Saint Francis Medical Center is home to 69 critical care beds, including a 20 bed CVICU/CCU and 12 intermediate beds. OSF approaches acute medicine for critically ill patients as an integrated team, including both intensivists and fellows, in a shared practice model. The medical center also employs advanced practice nurses and physician assistants dedicated to the support of critical care services. Large volume and variety of open and endovascular cases are performed including ECMO and TAVR, with plans to redevelop a destination therapy LVAD program. All 145 ICU beds in the OSF HealthCare system, including 20 CVICU/CCU beds, are supported by our intensivisits using eICU telemedicine.
