- Experience and new fellowship candidates considered
- Candidates must have primary training in anesthesiology, cardiac surgery and have completed advanced training in fields relevant to critical care medicine
- Must be board-eligible/board-certified in their primary field
- Be eligible for a full medical licensure in the State of Pennsylvania prior to appointment
Lead daily multidisciplinary rounds on all patients admitted to the ICU. The intensivists are expected to provide critical care and build strong collaborative team relationship with cardiac surgeons, referring cardiologists and consulting physicians, as well as actively participate in ongoing quality improvement initiatives. Intensivists with strong clinical focus play an important role in teaching as well as clinical research. Protocols have resulted in documented improved patient outcomes while providing superior patient experience.
Critical care services are primarily in the CT ICU, and postoperative cardiac surgical telemetry floor, or in response to Rapid Response Team alerts or in the ED for patients on cardiac surgery service.
