Position Summary

Pace, North America’s leading and largest independently owned brand storytelling agency, is looking for a Creative Director to join the team at HQ in Greensboro, NC.  The Creative Director will serve as the creative lead and creative decision maker for a project, campaign and/or program.  This role will provide the creative vision and direction for the execution and production of creative work including creative campaigns, digital and print publication, visual elements, video and social content.  This is a cross-functional role that will collaborate daily with functional peers including account, strategy, analytics and project management. As a qualified candidate, you will have experience creating, executing and directing the design for assigned projects, developing and managing creative standards, and inspiring others to reach those standards. Additionally, the Creative Director owns the room, shaping and presenting creative work internally and externally.  This role reports to the Group Creative Director or Executive Creative Director.  Some travel will be required.

Qualified candidates will have recent experience leading creative work for a luxury account in a cross-channel advertising and/or marketing environment.  Note, to be considered for this role you must submit work samples and/or a link to an online portfolio.

This position could sit in one of two Pace offices: Greensboro, NC (HQ) or New York, NY.

Principal Accountabilities

  • Provide the creative vision and direction for the execution and production of creative work across all platforms and channels, including – print, digital, campaign and social
  • Shape and present creative work internally and externally
  • Confidently share and defend the work
  • Articulate the solve for “The Strategic Why” presented by the strategy team
  • Ensure creative integrity and excellence in every asset produced
  • Manage assigned program from the creative perspective including vision, direction and day-to-day production
  • Lead creative execution and growth across all platforms/channels constantly pushing the work to be better
  • Manage assigned team, delegate work and provide timely feedback on the team’s work
  • Mentor and develop the creative team, their skills and career paths
  • Lead ideation and brainstorming sessions
  • Conceptual thinking as well as hands-on creation of content
  • Serve as the lead creative in all client meetings and presentations
  • Manage and select freelance staff; identify opportunities to work with new talent internally and externally
  • Manage and direct video/photo shoots
  • Advocate for proper scheduling, time, tools, resources and processes for creating the work
  • Strong communication and collaboration with account, strategy, analytics and project management teams
  • Serve as proxy when needed for Group CD/ECD
  • Review new and existing SoWs for staffing/allocation; work with account team to ensure all work is properly staffed for completion
  • Collaborate and share ideas/best practices with CDs across the organization

Job Qualifications

Education: BFA in Graphic Design or a related field

Experience: 10-15years of experience in a cross-channel advertising or marketing role; recent experience working on a luxury account

Skills:

  • Ability to move and inspire a creative team to the next level
  • Proven success growing a creative account
  • Ability to articulate how a creative team can uniquely address strategic insight and help meet business objectives; a believer in strategy
  • Comfortable with client presentations and the ability to sell big ideas
  • Ability to identify opportunities for upselling and growing a business creatively
