Position Summary:

The position will focus on commercial real estate legal matters including acquisition, development, management, financing, workout and restructuring, ownership and tax structuring, public and private partnership and leasing. You will work closely with internal and external clients on a wide variety of contract, insurance, and regulatory compliance matters. Position Responsibilities:

§ Assist with the drafting, review and management of an array of agreements including contracts, leases, purchase and sale agreements, closing documents, easements, declarations and subleases

§ Researching and advising on "alphabet soup" of regulations impacting the organization and develop appropriate solutions

§ Collaborate with external counsel and actively manage those relationships on an as needed basis

§ Review legal processes, structures, and policies and procedures throughout the organization, identifying opportunities for improvement and recommending appropriate changes

§ Assist with the development and implementation of relevant team member training

§ Maintain broad knowledge of areas relating to real estate development and property management

§ Work with vendors to address and resolve issues

Position Requirements:

§ A J.D. degree is required along with excellent analytical skills and working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel

§ 6+ years of relevant experience

§ Ability to compose and edit various documents including leases, licenses and amendments

§ Able to operate independently and exercise good judgment. Ideal candidate should be sensitive to the needs of the business while skillfully and diplomatically managing risks for the organization

§ Ability to think strategically and creatively and to identify and resolve legal issues in the context of the organization's short and long term goals

§ Exceptional communication skills (both verbal and written)

§ Results oriented with a bias toward action
