The PNC legal department's Business & Finance Group (B&F Legal) consists of approximately 65 attorneys and paralegals located primarily in Pittsburgh and Philadelphia, PA. The Commercial Banking Group, a unit within B&F Legal, is seeking a corporate/commercial lending attorney who primarily will provide legal guidance and support to internal PNC commercial clients in the Corporate and Institutional Banking and Business Banking lines of business on an array of legal matters, including the following:

• Giving legal advice and support to loan product managers, relationship managers, credit officers, paralegals and documentation specialists on commercial lending matters of varying complexity;

• Collaborating with clients and colleagues to improve internal processes and enhance efficiency consistent with PNC's risk framework while also delivering a positive customer experience;

• Advising loan administrators and operations regarding ongoing administration of loans, including collateral, booking and other servicing issues;

• Providing training to internal clients and partners;

• Selecting and overseeing services of approved outside counsel;

• Drafting, reviewing and/or negotiating loan documents relating to all types of commercial loan transactions;

• Updating and maintaining standard commercial loan forms; and

• Supporting the businesses relating to new initiatives, products and services

The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications and credentials:

• J.D. degree from an accredited law school;

• Currently licensed to practice in the courts of one or more states;

• A minimum of 5 years' experience with secured transactions (real estate and non-real estate) and related commercial lending laws;

• Broad scope of experience representing banks in commercial lending, ranging from small business banking to middle market and large corporate transactions;

• Commercial lending bank regulatory experience (including Reg B, AML/BSA, Flood, Reg Z, TILA) a plus;

• Excellent business judgment, sound decision-making and solid problem-solving and legal analytical skills;

• Ability to think strategically to identify trends and risks, and ability to facilitate and implement solutions;

• Self-starter with ability to work both independently and collaboratively, as appropriate;

• Strong organizational skills and excellent oral and written communication abilities; and

• Basic knowledge of SharePoint, Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel, Adobe and Word.

Required Education and Experience

Roles at this level typically require a university / college degree. Higher level education such as a Masters degree, PhD, or certifications is desirable. Industry relevant experience is typically 8+ years. Specific certifications are often required.
