About the Opportunity
As a member of the Corporate Planning team, this role will have opportunities to contribute to some of the most strategic and high priority work of the Bank. The Business Advisor is responsible for coordinating the development and publication of timely, accurate and informative performance reports, which entails the collection and review of qualitative and quantitative information, and the translation of that information into a clear, meaningful and cohesive overview of strategic, operational and financial performance for a variety of stakeholders including the Bank’s Board of Directors, senior management and the Board of Governors. This role also supports strategic engagements with business areas across the Bank by helping business leaders identify and implement initiatives that advance the Bank’s and the Federal Reserve System’s strategic priorities, strengthen operations, and improve efficiency. In doing so, this role applies a variety of strategic and operational business planning techniques and change management practices to deliver services and solutions that meet business needs.
What You Will Do:
Coordinate, analyze and interpret Bank performance reporting, including: managing the development of the Bank’s annual performance review with the Board of Governors; developing mid-year/annual performance presentations; supporting business line scorecard development (KPIs and reporting); and supporting quarterly reporting to the Bank’s Board of Directors.
Provide advisory services and planning support to the Corporate Strategists and inform complex and critical business decisions using qualitative and quantitative analysis.
Support large-scale planning meetings by serving as an active contributor to agenda planning, the development and coordination of pre-work, break-out session facilitation and co-facilitation. Drive outcomes, decisions and translate planning session output into actionable next steps.
Under the direction of the Corporate Strategists provide support to client groups on best practices and how to implement the necessary changes to address business needs. Anticipate leadership needs and serve as a key contributor in process improvement and long-term solution discussions. Present outcomes in written and verbal formats to senior leadership teams.
Identify and evaluate emerging issues and trends, assist in the coordination of Bank-wide strategic planning processes as directed.
Provide ad hoc facilitation (i.e. charter development, problem solving, initiative scoping) and support planning meetings.
Conduct Voice of the Customer activities and develop Critical to Quality Requirements to inform solutions.
Develop knowledge of supported client areas and build relationships by assessing, evaluating, and fully understanding the needs and requirements of clients and their respective business lines.
Facilitate strategic planning processes and monitor key performance metrics to ensure alignment of departmental objectives with organizational initiatives and directives.
3 to 5+ years of relevant work experience
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required
Demonstrated experience with translating information into a cohesive and meaningful story through business analytics, content prioritization and data visualization.
Thorough knowledge of and experience in various methods of data collection and analysis. Highly creative with strong data visualization skills.
Strategy development, business planning and facilitation expertise.
Independent and self-motivated with the ability to take the initiative to drive efforts forward, proactive communicator.
Strong oral and written communication skills with the ability to provide clear and concise information and/or instruction to key stakeholders.
Strong relationship building and customer service skills with ability to collaborate and influence at all levels of the organization.
Highly versatile with the ability to adapt to changing environments and manage multiple priorities.
Exceptional analytical and organizational skills; prudent judgment and decision-making ability, and an innovative approach to problem solving.
Knowledge of Lean Six Sigma improvement methodology and techniques is preferred
Ability to ask penetrating questions and identify unstated assumptions.
Highly proficient in PowerPoint and Excel. Expertise in reporting tools such as Tableau and SharePoint preferred.
