The selected individual will be responsible for but not limited to the following obligations:


  • Design and implement a global industrial hygiene program, to include standards, tools, software management, and data analysis
  • Conduct exposure investigations, in support of site and functional teams
  • Review plant and holistic organizational and/or business team exposure data, and conduct similar exposure group (SEG) analysis to determine risk and mitigation strategies to eliminate or reduce potential exposures, to include chemical, physical or biological hazards
  • Conduct regular quality assurance reviews of global IH data; track and manage risks by site and support users with inquiries/issues as they aris
  • Serve as the technical interface with facilities and liaison with external consultants, as nee Serve as the functional industrial expert to support all Hexcel facilities, and work collaboratively to liaise with external consultants, as needed
  • Mentor facility EHS staff and improve organizational industrial hygiene IQ
  • Assist with facility sampling plan development and resource identification
  • Develop and distribute periodic updates on IH-related metrics, and support the design and implementation of the new IH data management system (Cority), with associated training
  • Manage corporate IH equipment inventory, as applicable
  • Participate on corporate EHS audits, as needed, to determine compliance with country laws and corporate standards
  • Support the Sr. Regional EHS Leader by working closely with facility EHS professional to ensure compliance with applicable U.S. legislation and Hexcel health and safety standards/policies
  • As an EHS expert, provide technical safety advice, participate and lead the development of tools, solutions and materials to support organizational culture change and eliminate injuries and illnesses
  • Support the implementation of best practices for Hexcel regional sites to reduce injury risk
  • Assist facilities implement standards, systems, policies, procedures and guidelines to eliminate prevalent risks and hazards, including but not limited to cuts/lacerations, lockout-tagout, ergonomic sprains/strains, etc.
  • Provide the leadership and necessary support for Hexcel's pursuit of a zero-incident culture
  • Drive cultural and leadership accountability for EHS performance by creating systems/tools focused on leadership, establishment of new EHS NORMS, and systems to drive and sustain a world-class safety/EHS culture

Qualifications:


  • A Bachelor or Master's degree in occupational safety, industrial hygiene or an equivalent discipline with at least 10 years of experience in materials or chemical manufacturing, with multi-site support and/or oversite responsibility
  • Strong technical skills in the field of industrial hygiene and safety, with experience implementing programs and systems, and improving performance
  • Certification in industrial hygienist (CIH) and safety (CSP) is strongly preferred
  • Ability and willingness to travel 40-60% - domestic and international, as required
  • Knowledge and skilled in root cause analysis techniques, and familiarity with nanomaterial management, pandemic planning and injury/illness case management is preferred
  • Ability to work and support an organization committed to a zero-incident workplace
  • Knowledge of U.S. EHS laws and regulations, and global industrial hygiene standards
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a proven ability to develop strong working relationships with all levels of an organization and regulatory authorities
  • Experience working for a global organization, skilled in navigating different cultures
  • A demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet project timelines. Organized, driven, self-motivated, independent worker, focused on timely customer results and action
