Position Summary: The Manager of the Environmental Compliance team will lead, direct and motivate an energized team of environmental professionals who are driven to deliver solutions and provide support to our team of 1,400+ employees in more than 80 locations in the United States and Canada. The successful candidate will work closely with other HCC leaders to drive improvement in the areas of environmental compliance, internal and external auditing, environmental training and supply chain management.  In addition, this person will interface with State and Federal Agencies, provide internal guidance on regulatory issues, assist in managing the regulatory compliance of HCC facilities, and business expansion.

 Essential Duties:

  • Develop and manage a team to ensure compliance with federal and state regulations, and corporate environmental policies and procedures across HCC facilities
  • Interface with State and Federal regulatory agencies to provide regulatory interpretation, discuss regulatory compliance issues and negotiate implementable solutions
  • Ensure all HCC Facility/branch permits are in place and maintained
  • Develop and/or revise standard procedures and practices as needed to achieve and maintain requirements with state and federal regulations
  • Provide the necessary Due diligence/acquisition support
  • Develop and implement a downstream vendor audit protocol and for new and existing vendors and implement solutions-oriented risk minimization strategies in the supply chain process
  • Develop and implement weekly/monthly internal audit procedures and the mechanism for tracking and follow up

             Work Experience

10+ years direct work experience minimum

            Education, Certificates, Licenses, or Designations

Bachelor’s Degree, preferably in the Sciences

            Specific Skills

Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office applications
