Corporate Counsel will provide business-oriented legal advice to business and sales leaders. Additional responsibilities will include drafting, reviewing, and/or negotiation of various contracts and license agreements. Assisting with human resources, intellectual property and other legal matters as needed.


Principal Functions of the Job:

  • Draft and negotiate complex software licensing, distributor, OEM, and reseller agreements.

  • Manage HIPAA compliance and draft and negotiate privacy agreements

  • Keep abreast of legal developments within designated subject matter area/business unit and assist in the design and implementation of appropriate processes and policies to ensure compliance.

  • Participate in human resources, intellectual property and other legal matters as needed.


Job Qualifications:

Job Qualifications:

  • JDdegree from an accredited U.S. Law School.

  • 4+ years of experience as an attorney

  • Prior work experience at a prestigious law firm

  • In-house legal experience a plus

  • Strong academic credentials and in-house experiencepreferred

  • Licensed to practice law in Kansas

  • At least 2 yearexperience in drafting contracts and license agreement

  • Knowledge of HIPAA and state privacy laws is strongly preferred

  • Experience supporting a business team and making thoughtful business oriented-decisions is important

  • Strong negotiation skills.

  • Strong project management skills

  • Analytical skills

  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal

  • Able to work and remain organized in a fast paced and changing environment
