  • Oversee the accounting close process and continuously improve processes to scale with the organization.
  • Oversee and ensure accurate and timely preparation of the financial statements.
  • Ensure external reporting in compliance with SEC regulations including the timely filing of Form 10-K’s, Form 10-Q’s, and proxy requirements.
  • Oversee external tax advisors to ensure compliance with requiredtax filings and preparation of tax provisions.
  • Serve as a technical accounting resource for the organization. Document and review technical accounting assessments and conclusions in memos for management and auditors.
  • Oversee the Company’s SOX compliance, working to strengthen internal controls and ensure the control environment is operating effectively.
  • Supervise AR, AP, payroll, fixed asset, and revenue recognition activities.
  • Oversee the accounting for equity awards.
  • Act as the primary liaison to external auditors and manage all financialaudits and reviews.
  • Prepare board of director and audit committee packages.
  • Continue to evolve and develop an accounting department and team that is a partner to the business with an infrastructure that will support significant growth.
  • Build relationships cross-functionally to foster collaboration both inside and outside of the Finance & Accounting teams.
  • Lead ad hoc Finance projects as needed.

Education & Requirements

  • Bachelor or Master’s degree in Accounting with active CPA license required. Minimum 10+ years’ experience in accounting including recent public company experience as the controller or assistant controller.
  • Big 4 Public Accounting and SEC reporting experiencepreferred.
  • Proficiency with US GAAPrequired.
  • Prior employment in a commercial biotech preferred.
  • Experience implementing/maintaining accounting systems and developing reporting and analytics capabilities. Oracle experiencepreferred.
  • Collaborative business partner adept in building cross-functional relationships to drive business results.
  • Proven track record of effective people management.
  • Exhibits the highest degree of integrity and ethics.
  • Excellent relationship and communications skills and the ability to quickly establish credibility.
  • Strong team player that has a customer service approach and is solution oriented.
