Job Description
The Corporate Communications Manager I is responsible for driving awareness and a positive image among media, Customers and other key influencers through strategic media relations programs and tactics for TD Bank’s entire Footprint, supporting Corporate and specific lines of business. This position also manages and supervises day-to-day media relations budget and/or team in a fast pace environment.

Requirements

•   Develops and executes internal communications and media relations strategies and tactics that supports business objectives, managing the delivery, cycle, and flow of those communications

•   Acts as a Bank spokesperson in support of TD’s objectives

•   Maintains positive relationships with media contacts and close partnerships with Executives

•   Uses media outreach and employee engagement techniques and tactics to drive business goals

•   Partners with broader CAPA team to ensure local execution for companywide initiatives (Pulse, Career Month, etc.), and to share best practices and LOB ‘wins’ with the group

•   Develops ideas for CAPA to use for media relations or internal effort

•   Manages the annual Media Relations budget for said businesses

•   Creates programs/news to efficiently increase media exposure and maximize reach of key messages

•   Supports the goals of CAPA through creation of strategic and brand messaging through an external audience, mainly the media

•   Manages monthly metrics

•   Writes and edits press materials on a daily basis

•   Interacts and counsels internal and external teams, including executives regarding news

•   Counsels senior executives on messaging and media opportunities. Works to position executives as thought leaders, staff interviews and effectively prepare executives to ensure success.

•   Integrates with Marketing and other departments to leverage related opportunities and supports the Brand

Qualifications
-Bachelor’s degree required in Communications, Public Relations preferred
-5+ years related experience required
-Strong writing and organizational skills coupled with the ability to work effectively in results-driven, deadline oriented environment
