Our Global Finance Group partners with other Capital Group departments to proactively provide relevant, timely and accurate financialreporting and analysis, innovative solutions and other insightful information that impacts business decision-making while protecting company interests.

As a Global Finance Team Manager in the Corporate Accounting group in our Irvine, CA office, you will be responsible for overseeing and maintaining the accounting records, related supporting schedules and effective control environment of selected corporate entities. You will perform detailed analysis and review of business unit financial performance and take the lead in proactively resolving accounting related issues with business management and liaise with external auditors. Additionally, you will assess performance, provide performance coaching and feedback, and develop team members to deliver superior business results.

Responsibilities:

  • Managing the monthly accounting and operational processes
  • Analyzing and forecast key business statistics, trends and drivers that impact financial results
  • Making recommendations that drive operational efficiency
  • Working with other departments to reportfinancial information and ad hoc analyses
  • Reviewing current and future business initiatives including adoption of new accounting standards for financial impacts
  • Leading and participating in special projects

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Finance or a related field; CPA or MBA strongly preferred
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in accounting, finance or a related function and at least 2 years of management/supervisory experience, including a demonstrated ability to coach and lead experienced professionals to reach desired results
  • Demonstrated ability to assess and resolve challenges independently through good judgment, decisiveness and ability to provide guidance to others
  • Demonstrated strong business acumen, critical thinking and experience with change management.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including experience presenting to executives
  • Demonstrate strong technical skills and be well-versed in enabling finance technologies.
  • Experience with ERP systems and advanced knowledge of Excel
  • General knowledge of mutual funds and experience in the investment management industry is a plus
