The Compliance Manager is responsible for working with various key business, risk and support functions to assure the company complies with applicable regulatory requirements. The work includes assessing processes and controls as well as participating in major projects and other activities with significant business impact. This individual will also hire, train and manage compliance analysts to assist in the completion of the aforementioned responsibilities.
This role will report to the Head of Practices, Testing & Lending Compliance.
Major Job Responsibilities:
Assist with the development of cost effective compliance strategies, policies and procedures
Manage the execution of the compliance program across businesses, risk groups and support functions
Remain up-to-date on changes in federal and state compliance laws and regulations impacting the assigned compliance area(s) and ensure subordinates and line managers in the area of responsibility are adequately informed.
Provide technical support, assistance, training, and analysis to compliance personnel and project teams.
Coordinate and report compliance results to business unit managers, managing directors, Corporate Compliance, and others as appropriate
Manage and drive Compliance’s strategy to build the knowledge, skills and abilities of an entry-level talent pool of Compliance Analysts
Coordinate the utilization of entry-level talent to support business activities and project objectives
Establish an onboarding, learning and development strategy intended to speed time to productivity and effectiveness for early career hires
Manage the interview and selection process for Compliance Analysts
Typically requires a degree from a four-year college
Minimum of eight years of Compliance, Risk or equivalent work experience
Solid persuasive verbal and written communication skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite of applications or equivalent
Strong time, project management, teamwork, execution and organizational skills
Proven coaching, developing and people management skills
Ability to interact with all levels of the organization
Strong presentation skills
Demonstrates organizational agility and ability to look across the Enterprise
