The Chief Administrative Officer (CAO) for Health Texas Provider Network (HTPN) is responsible for planning, organizing, directing and monitoring all aspects of the medical group operations. Working closely with senior administration, vice presidents and physicians, the CAO sets short and long term organizational goals and objectives. Develops, leads and manages tactical and operational initiatives that position HTPN for long term success and is consistent with the overall mission of HTPN/Baylor Scott & White Health (BSHW).
WHAT IS EXPECTED (Essential Functions)
-Provide leadership and guidance in optimizing operational performance, promoting real-time problem solving, and building a results-oriented, performance driven, collaborative, accessible and visible leadership and management team.
-Provide operational direction to HTPN through effective knowledge, interpretation and application of BSWH, physician practice and HTPN policies and procedures that consider current and trending needs. Maintains knowledge base to serve as a catalyst for innovation, action and results.
-Provide leadership in the development of effective accountability systems which link individual, departmental, organizational, and HTPN and enterprise-wide priorities, goals and objectives. In this context, promote a culture in HTPN which is responsive, results oriented, efficient and accountable.
-Responsible for network capacity strategy as it relates to site location, specialty and integration of HTPN into the larger enterprise strategy.
-Responsible for merging hospital-physician-community elements to assimilate the needs into an integrated care strategy serving the needs of all stakeholders while supporting stated organizational objectives.
-Oversees performance standards that address quality outcomes and ensure compliance with all applicable regulatory agencies and internal policies. Develops policies and procedures that support the strategic initiatives of both HTPN and BSWH.
-Collaborates and establishes excellent working relationships within BSWH to include enterprise leadership, physicians and leadership in other entities.
-Provide leadership in operational and budgetary systems and monitor established processes to ensure exceptional clinical outcomes, exceptional patient, employee and physician satisfaction and exceptional financial outcomes.
-Represents HTPN to the public, its constituencies, health care organizations, professional associations, governmental agencies, etc in support of operational and strategic goals
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, and ABILITIES
-A Master’s degree in health or hospital administration, business administration or a related field and a minimum of eight years progressively responsible administrative experience. Knowledge of healthcare delivery and management as it relates to an integrated physician organization.
-Knowledge and vision regarding the changing healthcare delivery model including population health dynamics, provider organization relationships, risk-based arrangements, advanced technology support and other elements of accountable care organizations.
-Ability to lead large scale organizational change including elements of care delivery, technology and physician workforce management.
-Ability to operate as an effective tactical implementer as well as strategic thinker.
-Ability to influence and engage those within the organization and external to the organization.
