POSITION SUMMARY:

In addition to its 300 days of annual sunshine, breathtaking scenery, and reputation for some of the country's best brews, Denver ranks among the top 10 in Forbes' 'Best cities for

dogs 2024' list. We are honored to have a strong presence in this mile-high city, as we have been operating here since 1930. Initially focused on producing livestock feed, the plant transitioned into a pet food-only manufacturer in 1972. Notably, our Denver location became the first-ever pet food factory to harness the power of solar energy. We take great pride in doing our part to care for the environment, like conserving water, investing in renewable electricity and maintaining zero waste for disposal. We currently produce 260,134 tons annually of Dog Chow®, Cat Chow®, Kit n Kaboodle®, Alpo®, Beneful®, Nestlé Purina ONE Beyond®, Nestlé Purina ONE®, and Pro Plan® .

As a Controls Manager, you will have overall accountability for the functionality and performance of the discipline. You will be responsible for assigning work, providing support and guidance to team members while ensuring the services and deliverables provided from your team will meet NPPC standards. The Controls Manager is responsible for the long-term factory automation planning and the proactive managing of their team and assignments to ensure deliverables are met to achieve budget, milestones, and factory goals.

  • Manage and support development of Controls Specialists and/or Technicians.
  • Support day to day factory NCE TPM (continuous improvement) initiatives through coaching, training, and leadership activities.
  • Guide the activities of engineers, technicians and other support staff in the planning, scheduling, design, and execution of projects.
  • Monitor and maintain department productivity and ensure NPPC Engineering and quality standards are met.
  • Develop and/or maintain technical and administrative processes, tools, and guidelines pertaining to Instrumentation & Controls.
  • Fluent knowledge of Instrumentation engineering and workflow(s), as well as interdisciplinary interaction required to successfully complete projects.
  • Understanding and ownership of electrical power systems, hazardous energy control procedures, and electrical safety work-related practices.


Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or related Engineering discipline.
  • 5+ years' control system design, PLC logic and programming, electrical and automation troubleshooting, and hardware application experience in a manufacturing, industrial, technical, military, or related environment.
  • 1+ years' people leadership experience.

The approximate pay for this position is $143,000 - 182,000. Please note that the pay range provided is a good faith estimate for the position at the time of posting. Final compensation may vary based on factors including but not limited to knowledge, skills and abilities as well as geographic location.
