Job Description SummaryThe Electrical/Controls/Automation Engineer manages the process of specifying, designing, configuring, testing, supervising, and manufacturing control, electrical, and automation systems. In this role, you will serve as a technical reference for designers and engineering technicians responsible for automation, instrumentation, and control system integration/development. Additionally, you will provide remote assistance for on-site installation and support of PLC/HMI/computer-based hardware, offer schedule and cost updates to project managers on multi-discipline projects, and maintain effective communication with clients and co-workers.
Essential Functions- Designs control systems and instrumentation equipment, including electrical control panels.
- Conducting analytical assessments and troubleshooting.
- Initiating and leading projects independently.
- Assists with installation and commissioning tasks (experience preferred but not required).
- Modifying and upgrading existing systems.
- Analyze the processes of the assigned facility
- Identify shortcomings that could be opened by automation
- Design systems that can automate processes
- Maintain and repair systems
- Inspect systems to ensure they meet safety regulations
- Familiarity with PLC/SCADA software across multiple platforms.
Education and Experience- Bachelor's degree or higher in Electronic & Electrical/Controls/Instrumentation Engineering or equivalent experience.
- Electrical equipment in explosive environments: 5 years (Required)
- Electrical Engineering: 5 years (Required)
- Instrumentation: 5 years (Required)
- PLC, HMI, and related hardware: 5 years (Required)
- Controls, Automation: 5 years (Required)
- Electrical Panel, Equipment Design: 2 years (Required)
- VFDs (Variable Frequency Drives): 5 years (Preferred).
Relocation Relocation is authorized for this position.
This position requires use of information or access to production processes subject to national security controls under U.S. export control laws and regulations (including, but not limited to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and the Export Administration Regulations (EAR)).
