Controls Director

  • Work closely with project teams and leaders to ensure the Controls group is being utilized to the fullest potential creating the largest business impact.
  • Support business development activities along with project start-up and preconstruction activities. Assist with cost estimates.
  • Develop, implement and manage the project controls plans for projects.
  • Ensure that established processes and procedures are followed.
  • Lead and further develop the project controls team to execute at its fullest potential. Own and build upon existing processes, identify needs for enhancements that promote efficiency and/or add value to the organization.
  • Prepare and analyze monthly cash flow in accordance with client requirements.
  • Assists project team in resolution of issues involving cost and schedule changes. Assist with the project Change Management process.
  • Generate and analyze integrated project progress reporting such as performance reports, earned value analysis, schedule and budget adherence, and periodic tracking.
  • Ensure compliance with client project control requirements.
  • Review and validate project schedules.
  • Direct management of all planning, scheduling, and controls team members. May include contract personnel at times.


  • 10+ years of Industrial (Power, Oil&Gas or similar preferred) Construction experience.
  • 5+ years working in a Project Controls, Cost and Scheduling role.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Construction Management. Master’s Degree highly desirable.
  • Demonstrated experience leading, managing and coaching a team of professionals in a Project Controls capacity.
  • Understanding of standard construction accounting procedures – payroll, Accounts Payable, Subcontractor payables.
  • Proficiency with Oracle Primavera P6 Scheduling software.
  • Demonstrated customer focus.
  • Outstanding oral and a written communication skills, Ability to work with all levels of the organization and with clients, sub-contractors, and project teams as required.
