Job Description

The Plant Controller is responsible for the print manufacturing plant’s accounting practices, the maintenance of fiscal records, and the preparation of its financialreports. Has overall leadership responsibility of all financialreporting for the plant, including budgeting, forecasting, month-end closing, customer invoicing, inventory control, fixed asset accounting, capital spending analysis, internal controls and cost accounting. Actively participates in divisional strategic planning and serves as a business partner with site leadership.  This position is an important part of the financial talent pipeline and serves as a feeder for larger regional roles as well as corporate roles.

Required Skills:

Manage the financialreporting processes, providing accurate and timely data to local and corporate management.

Develop, analyze and interpret statistical and accounting information in order to evaluate operating results in terms of profitability, performance against budget, prior year, & forecast, and other matters bearing on the financial and operating effectiveness of the company.

Interpret financial data for management use in business decisions and identify opportunities for improvement in both plant operations and support processes impacting business effectiveness.

Coordinate and direct the preparation of the annual budget, and be a key contributor in the annual strategic planning process.

Lead capital spending analysis and planning, submit monthly and full year forecasts.

Coordinate and draft the presentation of the monthly P&L forecast comparing against prior forecast, budget and prior year results. Develop processes that forecast revenue at the job level with the ability to summarize by product segments and customer.

Partner with site Leadership team in the development of projects that improve productivity.  Effectively manage and develop the accounting/finance department staff, fostering an environment of continuous improvement and career growth while maintaining superior standards for accuracy and efficiency.

Implement and maintain internal controls in line with corporate standards, GAAP and Sarbanes Oxley requirements.

Performs other related duties & participates in special projects as assigned.

RequiredExperience and Skills:

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required. CPA or MBA and knowledge of SAPpreferred; experience in the printing industry a plus.

10+ years related management experience in a manufacturing profit center environment.

Proven management-level skills in financialreporting, cost accounting, budgeting, forecasting and inventoryvaluation, with strong track record of accurate and timely financialreporting.

Proficient in use of accounting systems, implementation of corporate financial practices, analysis of financial and operating information to facilitate decision making, and recommending actions to improve performance.

Strong leadership, communication, and team building skills

Ability to develop high levels of credibility and forge solid and positive professional relationships with subordinates, peers, and upper management.

Proficient in Microsoft products, database software and other applicable accounting and financial software and systems. Experience in Essbase a plus.

Able to communicate effectively, both verbally as well as through multiple forms of media.
