The Corporate Accounting group is responsible for the daily accounting operations of numerous business entities. The group is in charge of the year-end audit, filing of necessary financial statements/information and the quarterly consolidation of 450 plus entities.

The Controller of Corporate Accounting will oversee a staff of Corporate Accounting employees and have responsibility for several platform business lines. This includes the oversight of daily accounting operations as well as compliance with GAAP. The Controller will review on monthly basis the work of Assistant Controllers/Senior Accountant to ensure proper GAAP accounting for the various platform activities, transactions and financial reporting. On a quarterly basis this person will be responsible for review of platform sub-consolidations, preparation of variance analysis and assist in the consolidation process utilizing the HFM software. Additionally, on an annual basis, the Controller will assist in the preparation and review process of the audited financial statements as well as supporting analyses. The Controller position, located in New York will report to the VP of Corporate Accounting.

Primary Responsibilities

· Manage the accounting associated with several business platforms and related operations

· Ensure all business transactions are properly recorded in accordance with GAAP

· Oversee operational aspects of group and seek appropriate balance of efficiency/control

· Participate in various business process and technology integration initiatives

· Assist in the consolidation variance analysis for the quarterly and annual financial statements

· Assist in the management of auditor engagements for completion of annual auditreports

· Provide direction and guidance to staff as they perform their duties

· Mentoring of the team for future advancement, while providing day to day leadership, motivation and support to drive superior performance

· Evaluate structure of corporate accounting team and make recommendation to improve efficiency and control cost

· Special projects as assigned byCAO and VP

Qualifications

· Bachelor's degree in Accounting, CPArequired

· 10+ years of professional experience, preferably 5+ in public accounting, with a concentration in real estate

· Ability to handle multiple tasks and work independently with attention to details

· Clear communicator with ability to interact with senior leaders

· Mature professional with sound judgement and interpersonal skills

· Strong analytical ability

· Excellent written and communication skills

Salary

$200K - $225K
