Controller for Global Manufacturing, Private Equity owned business in Albuquerque, NM.

Controller will manage and oversee the daily operations of Company's accounting functions. The Controller will work closely with Company Management and key stakeholders to implement financial/accounting processes and align resources to support the Company's strategic goals. The successful candidate will have the ability to understand and perform all accounting functions, drive continuous improvement, and ensure compliance and consistency in policies and procedures. The position requires a strong leader able to take initiative across core accounting areas including general accounting, billing and collections, accounts payable, accounts receivable, cash applications, taxes, and payroll. Responsibilities will also include assisting in acquisition accounting and integration. The Controller reports to and supports the Chief Financial Officer.

Team Leadership:

·       Manage and oversee the daily operations of the accounting department

·       Assisting in the selection, training, and supervising of staff and motivating team members on productivity and accuracy

·       Identifying and resolving issues and initiating, investigating, and identifying process improvements

·       Liaison with leadership team including private equity group

Cash Management:

·       Project monthly and weekly cash requirements

·       Authorize payment of approved accounts payable

·       Management of monthly Accounts Receivable and Collection process

Budgeting:

·       Assist the Company’s CFO in the preparation of the Company’s annual operating budget

·       Provide weekly reporting to monitor Company’s operating budget and projections

Financial / Management Reporting:

·       Maintain accuracy of general ledger accounts and prepare monthly and annual financial statements in compliance with Company and GAAP standards

·       Prepare Quarterly bank reporting and MD&A

·       Oversee/supervise the processing of accounts payable

·       Oversee and maintain time and billing system

·       Oversee and review employee expense reports for accuracy and consistency with Company policies

·       Fixed asset management

·       Payroll administration

·       Prepare monthly commission calcs and reports

·       Prepare monthly borrowing certificates for bank

·       Oversee Workers Compensation Audit

·       Provide periodic data for monitoring of professional staff performance goals

·       Establish and maintain all aspects of internal accounting and control systems

·       Assist with 401(k) plan administration and reporting (eligibility, rollover and renewal)

·       Contract maintenance for the Company

·       Prepare special analysis, as necessary, to assist in Company management

·       Various high-level ad hoc research and analytical projects

Corporate Tax Administration:

·       Prepare annual tangible tax returns

·       Ensure the proper and timely preparation of quarterly and annual payroll federal and state returns

·       Assist in the 401(k) reporting (Prepare 5500 Returns)

·       Prepare / review monthly sales and use tax returns and ensure timely filing.

·       Assist the Company’s CFO in year-end tax planning

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:

·       Bachelor's or Master's degree in accounting required

·       CPA is highly preferred

·       Minimum of 10 years' experience in a fast-paced accounting group; preferably in an engineering or manufacturing environment with a global presence

·       Capacity to assist with policies and procedures projects

·       Ability to organize and prioritize multiple projects and tasks, and to direct others proactively to meet and/or exceed department objectives within time constraints

·       Ability to work through issues both collaboratively and independently

·       Acquisition accounting and integration experience strongly preferred

·       Highly proficient with Excel and otherMS Office programs

·       Strong customer service focus with the ability to maintain email and personal contact with shareholders, staff and others with professional courtesy and tact; strong aptitude for multi-tasking

Base salary plus up to a 30% Bonus based on personal and company performance, Long Term Equity Incentive Plan
