Responsible for the accounting operations of a multi-unit quick service and quick casual restaurant chain and the Accounting Department. Oversee the financialprocesses, reports, assessments, budgeting, and other accounting cycle functions. Ensure that report results comply with generally accepted accounting principles and the company?s standards.
Monthly Close - oversees the monthly close process including organizing, managing personnel resources and quality review of results for multiple companies. Controller is responsible for ongoing assessment of this process to identify opportunities for improvement.
Staff Development - responsible for coaching and developing staff members.
Tax Process ?responsible for the compilation of information requested by the outside firm for the preparation of income tax returns. Also responsible for the filing of all state and local tax returns and annual report filings.
Process controls and assessment ?monitors the accounting department functional areas and identifies opportunities for efficiencies and process improvements.
Franchisor reporting ?Controller manages all reporting requirements for franchisor?s on a timely and accurate basis as per established agreements.
Sales reporting ? insures daily sales reporting is completed on time and accurately
Budget/Projections/Variance Reporting ?responsible for providing the management team information regarding the financial performance compared to budget and projected forward. Will work with the management team to assist them or provide resources for other analysis as needed.
Ideal candidate will have:
Bachelor?s degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA, MBA or equivalent combination of education and experience, preferred
Experience in food service or restaurant company financialreporting, a plus
Experience in statutory reporting and auditexperience desirable.
