About the Opporunity
Avaya Federal Solutions, Inc. is seeking an experienced Contracts Manager with a minimum of 5 to 8 years of Government Contract Experience to join the team. This is an opportunity to join a team of enthusiastic contracting professionals supporting a dynamic Federal contracting environment! This role can be remote anywhere within the US. The successful candidate will be responsible for the contract management lifecycle to include contract initiation, contract creation and negotiation, contract approval, contract execution, contract monitoring and management, contract renewal, and contract closeout. The contracts managed will facilitate direct and indirect sales in support of key customers and partners. The ideal candidate will have experience in providing contracts expertise in risk assessment, have an ability to apply strategic resolutions to address business and programmatic risks, as well as experience in identifying and analyzing complex and often challenging contract matters. This position requires agile thinking, a clear and effective communication style and strong business and customer-service acumen. The selected candidate will directly report to Avaya's Director of Federal Contracts and is part of Avaya's Legal, Compliance and Security organization.
- Provide cradle-to-grave contract administration expertise primarily supporting Avaya Federal's contracts with the federal government and commercial customers such as Avaya Business Partners and federal system integrators.
- Actively develop and manage strong relationships with federal contracting officers. Represent Avaya Federal to external organizations, both U.S. government and non-U.S. government, building trusted relationships.
- Review proposed contracts, RFIs, RFQs, RFPs, solicitations, and SOWs to identify and analyze the potential risks to Avaya Federal. Draft and review proposal responses (including alternative responses). Manage the internal approval of responses for non-standard contractual terms and conditions. Participates in team proposal reviews.
- Provide internal counsel on FAR and DFARS to ensure compliance with applicable federal regulations.
- Monitor technology and industry trends to ensure Avaya's technology meets the demands of the competitive federal environment.
- As required, participate in dispute resolution which includes engaging legal team members and other appropriate stakeholders.
- Develop and maintain positive working relationships with Avaya corporate counsel, offer management, technical, business and sales operations to effectively negotiate responses that are consistent with and meet the demands of the competitive environment in which Avaya is a major player. Act as trusted advisor to same.
- Drive innovation, optimization, and best practice standardization of contracting process to ensure consistent and compliant application of Avaya Federal's policies and government requirements.
- Consistently exercise independent judgment and discretion in planning activities and solving complex contract issues, with a focus on clear communications and relationship management with internal and external stakeholders.
- Provide timely input into contract system(s) in response to contract execution, awards, and modifications.
- Draft and negotiate supporting contractual documents, such as non-disclosure agreements, teaming agreements, and subcontracting agreements.
About You
- Experience with all forms of government solicitations (RFP, RFQ, and other forms) and managing all forms of government contracts (Cost Type, FFP, T&M, IDIQ contracts, GWACS, BPAs and GSA Schedule contracts), including reviewing and understanding pricing, representations and certifications, and subcontracting issues.
- Thorough knowledge of U.S. Government contracting laws, regulations (FAR and DFARS) and government acquisition process.
- Comprehensive knowledge and experience in full life-cycle federal procurement and contracts including, but not limited to, pre-solicitation, solicitation, contract execution, contract extension, contract performance and contract close-out activities.
- Ability to review and negotiate agreements.
- Understanding of risk and risk mitigation, and ability to articulate this to internal clients.
- Capable of providing clear, concise communications.
- Detailed knowledge of pricing and contract finance.
- Comfortable working as part of a multidimensional team.
- This position requires a bachelor's degree. Must have at least 5 years of extensive prime/subcontract experience in administering full life cycle (cradle-to-grave) Federal Government contracts, preferably in the IT field.
- Must be a U.S. Citizen. Looking for candidates with the ability to acquire a top secret security clearance.
- Experience managing DoD contracts a plus.
Compensation
The pay range for this opportunity is from $103,700 to $140,050 + performance-related bonus + benefits
This range represents the anticipated low and high end of the salary for this position. This role is also eligible to receive an annual bonus that aligns with individual and company performance. Actual salaries will vary and are based on factors such as a candidate's qualifications, skills, competencies and location.
