The Contract Manufacturing Manager will be responsible for the overall relationship and management of external partners on behalf of Smucker Foods of Canada Corp. The incumbent will focus on managing business continuity from a supply chain perspective, value creation and sourcing new manufacturing capabilities.


  • Responsible for the negotiation of contracts with identified finished good (FG) co packers as needed
  • Accountable to ensure defined co pack processes are executed timely, accurately, and in a manner which supports key supply chain activities and service level expectations
  • Act as the primary point person on all contract manufacturing activities
  • Negotiate and secure pricing and create Blanket Purchase Agreements for all co pack providers
  • Act as the lead point person for the appropriate teams (Supply Planning, Marketing, Product Development, Quality, etc.) to assist in problem solving and resolving ongoing co packer issues
  • Work with the Accounts Payable team to ensure invoices are processed and manage dispute resolution with external manufacturing partners
  • Lead cost reduction initiatives as required for assigned co pack providers
  • Direct the execution of new Marketing initiatives for finished goods requirements once cost and feasibility analyses have been completed, and initiatives have been approved
  • Ensure quotes for new business opportunities are competitive and completed in a timely manner
  • Ensure any new business requirements are effectively communicated and implemented with the assigned co packers
  • Maintain effective and timely communication with key functional SBA team members regarding new initiatives during the execution phase
  • Track and review monthly purchase price variances (PPVs) of assigned co pack locations
  • Manage other key projects as assigned.
  • Establish quarterly Key Business Indicator review meetings with co pack providers


  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • 5-7 years’ experience in Operations, Purchasing, Contract Manufacturing, or Supply Chain Planning
  • System knowledge in Discoverer and Oracle Purchasing (P2P)
