Position Profile

Summary:  The CI Manager position will work directly with the General Manager to improve productivity and efficiency at the plant level.  Lead process 5S efforts to identify, develop, and execute process improvement initiatives, which focus on cost reduction, improved quality, process efficiency flow, process stability and standardization that result in increased revenues and customer satisfaction.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Works with Plant Managers to implement workforce plans; oversees all 5S production activities within the department. The primary function of the CI Manager is to manage all aspects of the assigned department. 

Responsible for the efficient scheduling of all related production.

Responsible for Staffing and Material replenishment.

Ensures that all staff are appropriately trained and that the supervisors appropriately train line workers.

Manage the housekeeping such that the plant is are clean, safe, and well-maintained.

Manage & participate in continuous improvement initiatives.

Special projects as assigned

Maintains work area consistent with 5S program and training.

Additional Duties:


Communicates with clients using well-developed writing and speaking skills and proven aptitude in writing business communications. Uses communication technologies efficiently.

Minimal Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Business or equivalent. CI Manager must have a minimum of 5years of management experience in a manufacturing environment.

The CI Manager must have a “take-charge" personality who can efficiently and effectively identify and solve problems and manage the growth and opportunity this company is experiencing.

The CI Manager must have excellent problem-solving skills and excellent communication skills to interact with all, Leadership team, Maintenance, and Upper Management with respect to challenges or opportunities.

Experience with continuous improvement initiatives such as Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen, & 6-Sigma.

Computer Skills:

Microsoft Office suite, internet applications. AS400 is a plus.
