Continuous Improvement Leader

Description

The Continuous Improvement Leader is responsible for Operational Excellence projects and activities at multiple locations in assigned region; champion projects and provide technical leadership utilizing Lean, Six Sigma, Value Stream Mapping, or other available tools improving quality, cost and delivery.
 
The will need to deliver significant operational improvement and financial benefit across assigned location.

 
Continuous Improvement Leader Responsibility:

  • Lead multiple process improvement initiatives to a quantifiable result in defect reduction, cost avoidance, loss reduction or revenue enhancement.
  • Serve as internal expert on process improvement tools and techniques focusing on LeanSix Sigma and coach process owners and leadership.
  • Leads project progress reviews with Master Black Belts, Champions and other Value Steam Leadership per the schedule defined in the project charter.
  • Strong focus on process improvement for Operations.
  • Recommend and facilitate quality and change management processes to align with strategic needs; identify customer needs and key drivers to reach customer satisfaction goals withfinancial benefit.
  • Involved in Lean Manufacturing working on Cost Saving and Process Improvement projects, utilizing Six Sigma, Lean and other process improvement tools.
  • Work closelywith the Plant Managers, Directors of Ops and VP of Operational Excellence regarding project selection & plans for implementation and lead the identification, prioritization and selection of process improvement opportunities.
  • Participate in the footprint study as input in selecting our model facilities / value streams. Provides training and mentorship to employees utilizing LeanSix Sigma tools and techniques (i.e. Green Belts)

 Education/Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in related manufacturing operations, engineering, or Supply Chain. 
  • 5+ years of experience in supply chain management, manufacturing operations, management consulting, or related science discipline with an emphasis in CI and process re-engineering.
  • Six SigmaBlack Belt and Leanexperience   a plus (will provide formal Black Belttraining).
  • Strong analytical skills with a process orientation.
  • Strong program management skills and ability to balance competing priorities.
  • Experience managing in a matrix environment.
  • The ability to influence without necessarily having positional power.
  • Previous experience managing multiple geographical and cultural environments. 
    Ability to communicate and influence at all levels of the organization; this includes written and verbal communications.
