CONTINUOUS IMPROVEMENT ENGINEER
Company Overview: The Client is a recognized global manufacturing company, viewed as a leader in worldwide vehicle production as well as chassis, engine and drivetrain manufacturing. The company produces and sells a wide variety of vehicles and systems globally and produces some of the most recognized brands in the world in their markets. This position is with one of the company?s global subsidiaries that manufacturers engines and drivetrains for a variety of vehicle applications.
The Manufacturing/ Continuous Improvement Manager will report to the General Manager responsible for the manufacturing facility. He/she will coach and train across multiple functions of the facility.
? A minimum 4years of experience in specialized lean manufacturing.
?Experience in engine or powertrain manufacturing is preferred. Experience in the implementation of lean manufacturing principles in a cellular/flow production environment is required. Knowledge of machining and assembly is required.
?Experience coaching and training teams in the use of lean tools is required.
? A Bachelor?s degree in Engineering or related is required.
The TOC/CI Manager will be responsible to lead the organizational transformation to Lean Manufacturing by utilizing lean manufacturing tools and consistent application of team based approaches.
? Coaching and training of teams and individuals to improve their effectiveness and systematic use of Lean Tools, such as Takt Time, 5S, Kaizen, Visual Factory Management, Value Stream Mapping, Set-up Reduction, Cellular and Flow production, etc.
? Problem Solving - Diagnose problems and lead teams to the development of permanent solutions.
? Facilitator - Ensure teams have the needed resources, access to sponsors, and help from outside the team.
?Reporting Results / Drive Change - Assist teams to develop measures, quantify results, determine actions and track progress.
? Celebrate Successes - Ensure teams are properly recognized and that all improvements are reported and recorded; communicating results to all employees and management on a frequent basis.
?Networking - Participate in Lean Manufacturing networks, training, and roundtables.
? Primary activities will be performed at the Byesville, OH facility, but this position will also require the coordination of activities for all Remanufacturing facilities (i.e. Annual DTNA TOS Awards submission).
A meaningful compensation package will be developed for the successful candidate that includes a base salary, along with performance-based bonus. A relocation package is available if required.
