LexisNexis, a leader in the legal publishing space seeks a recently practicing L&E attorney with 5+ years of experience to help develop online legal products, tools, and solutions for attorneys. We are seeking recent and intimate knowledge of L&E market trends to help inform content development and strategic direction. This role combines the experience of a former practicing attorney with product development, marketing, and sales.
As the Content Manager – Labor & Employment your roles and responsibilities will be the following:
• Develop, edit, and/or write practical guidance on how to conduct tasks and analyze issues relevant to labor & employment law
• Draft, review, and annotate relevant forms and checklists
• Manage internal editors and external authors to ensure timely delivery of content
• Help deliver a compelling and all-purpose practical guidance legal product offering across targeted markets as a member of a multi-disciplined team of content developers, product planners, external consultants, and marketing and sales reps
• Make recommendations concerning overall content strategy and expansion
• Monitor trends in the labor & employment sphere
• Assist in delivering customer facing messaging/marketing, sales, and customer training/customer service
Basic Qualifications:
• Law degree from an accredited law school
• 5+ years of experience as a labor & employment attorney
• Significant substantive experience in both labor & employment litigation and employment counseling
• Experience with drafting or editing legal practical guidance or client alerts is a plus
• Experience with unions / labor management relations a plus
• Experience with business immigration a plus
• Experience with labor & employment aspects of M&A / corporate transactions a plus
• Excellent writing, editing, and online legal research skills
• Comfortable working in Microsoft Word, Excel, and in conducting online research
• A passion for building top notch legal practical guidance in a digital universe
• Strong practical writer with the ability to write effectively and concisely
• Ability to work independently and with a team
• Must be organized, self-motivated, and detail-oriented
• Strong oral presentation skills
• Ability to make pitches to prospective customers and to present trainings to current customers
• Active bar membership in good standing
